On our recent trip to South Africa in November, (starting in Cape Town) Kate and I were recommended to visit The Franschhoek  Motor Museum, an hours drive north east. I was amazed to find these huge garages with a fantastic rotating collection of some 80 vehicles from a Penny Farthing bicycle, Model T Ford and wealth of American classics, historic racing Alfa's' Maseratis,Aston Martins, MG's,AC's and not least an original  Jaguar D type  XKD573. This was originally raced at Le Mans in 1956/7 by  Roussell and Swaters of Equipe Belgie, hence the bright yellow team colour!  It was then sold on and history advises later belonged to Coombs of Guildford, finally ending up belonging to a very wealthy owner of the above museum. The current reg would have been applied on transfer to the UK in the 60's. It was well worth an hour or so way out in the beautiful South African countryside. XKD 573 accompanied by the red Maserati, AM DB3s and a Mercedes 300SL. The best line up I have seen in many years!

To date we also have:
- an SS100 and an XK150 seen at a car show in Colorado, USA
- an XK120 with an XJS in the background taken whilst waiting for a ferry in Bergen, Norway
- an F type spotted in Cape Town, South Africa
- a Mk2 seen in South Afirca in 2010
